JSW Neo Energy Secures 400 MW Solar Project from NTPC
JSW Neo Energy Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of JSW Energy Limited, has secured a Letter of Award (LoA) to establish a 400 MW Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS)-connected solar power project for NTPC Ltd. This information was shared by JSW Energy in a press release dated 6th December 2024.
JSW Neo Energy secured this solar power project through Tariff-Based Competitive Bidding in an auction organized by NTPC. The bidding process was part of a scheme titled “Selection of Solar Power Generators for Setting Up 1500 MW ISTS-Connected Solar Power Projects Across India”.
Till date, JSW Energy has secured bids to develop 19.6 GW of Renewable Energy (RE) project, including 4.4 GW of solar projects. Additionally, JSW Energy has also won bids for developing Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and hydro pumped storage with a combined storage capacity of 16.2 GWh. Looking forward, the company plans to expand its generation capacity to 20 GW and its energy storage capacity to 40 GWh by 2030. Further, JSW Energy plans to be carbon neutral by 2050.
