Pratap Technocrats Secures Rs. 8,025 Cr. BSNL Contract for BharatNet Phase III

Pratap Technocrats Private Limited has signed an agreement with Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) for executing works on the middle-mile network of the BharatNet Phase III project. Total value of this order has been pegged at Rs. 8,025 crore.

Scope of Work and Project Coverage

Under this newly secured order, Pratap Technocrats will be responsible for designing, building, operating, and maintaining a middle-mile network* across Rajasthan, Haryana, and Assam. The company will also be responsible for providing operations and maintenance services for the network for a period of 10 years.

*Middle-mile network refers to the network that connects the last mile or local area network to the rest of the internet infrastructure.

The project will be implemented across three packages—Package 2 (Rajasthan), Package 10 (Haryana), and Package 14 (Assam).

Commenting on this win, Mr. Devendra Singh Shekhawat, Chairman, Pratap Technocrats, said, “The BharatNet program represents a cornerstone of India’s digital infrastructure expansion. Our focus will be on executing the project with the highest standards of reliability and operational excellence”.

BharatNet Phase III: Expanding India’s Digital Backbone

BharatNet Phase III will focus on expanding and strengthening the existing network infrastructure established in Phases I and II. This initiative targets to connect 2,50,000 Gram Panchayats (GPs), with a minimum bandwidth of 100 Mbps to be provided to each GP. The Government has approved a budget of Rs. 1.39 lakh crore for this phase of the project.

The project implementation agency is required to connect all Gram Panchayats in a ring topology with IP-MPLS aggregation/access routers, with each ring having a capacity of 8 to 10 Gbps.
