Adani Power Secures 1,600 MW Power Supply Agreement from MSEDCL
Adani Power Ltd. (APL) has received a Letter of Award (LoA) from Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Ltd (MSEDCL). The said LoA pertains to supply of 1,600 MW of power that will be provided from one of Adani Power’s upcoming ultra-supercritical thermal power projects. These projects are part of APL’s expansion plan to achieve 41.87 GW capacity by FY31-32.
Under this agreement, APL will provide power at a combined tariff of Rs. 5.30 per kWh. As per the Power Supply Agreement (PSA), Adani Power will commence supply of power from FY31 for a period of 25 years.
Including this agreement, Adani Power now has five long-term PSAs, adding to a total of 10,400 MW power supply. Furthermore, the company stated that from its upcoming projects that will have a total capacity of 23.8 GW, 13.3 GW has already secured 25-year Power Supply Agreements.
Additionally, APL, with its new thermal power projects, will aid India in achieving its goal of adding 100 GW of thermal power capacity by 2032. Emphasizing the importance of having reliable power sources, Mr. S.B. Khyalia, CEO of Adani Power Ltd., said, “With India’s power demand continuing to rise steadily, long-term and reliable capacity addition is critical to ensure energy security”.
