Vedanta Appoints Tata Steel Veteran Rajiv Kumar As CEO of Aluminium Business
Vedanta Ltd. has appointed Mr. Rajiv Kumar as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of its Aluminium business for a period of 3 years. Mr. Kumar has assumed this position from 26th March 2025.
On the matter of Mr. Rajiv Kumar’s appointment, Vedanta Limited mentioned in its stock filing dated 26th March 2025, “His leadership will be instrumental in unlocking long-term value for shareholders and other stakeholders. With this appointment, Vedanta Aluminium further strengthens its leadership team”.
Mr. Rajiv Kumar completed his graduation in metallurgical engineering from Birsa Institute of Technology (BIT) Sindri, Jharkhand. He also holds a General Management degree. Before being appointed as CEO of Vedanta’s Aluminium business, Mr. Kumar was working as Vice President of Operations at Tata Steel Limited. Mr. Kumar joined Tata Steel in 1990 and held various leadership positions across Steel and mining operations.
